Google AdWords PromotionQ. What is Google AdWords Select? A. It is Google’s version of a PPC (pay-per-click) service. Listings through AdWords Select appear in colored boxes on the right hand side when you do a search in Google. They also appear at the top of some other search engines as sponsored listings. Go to https://adwords.google.com/select/ for more information. Q. How does AdWords Select compare to Overture? A. Overture probably gets you more exposure than Google, especially if you have some top 3 listings in Overture. From our experience, Overture tends to lend a lower average CPC (cost per click). Overture also gives you more control over each individual listing. However, Google seems to offer very targeted traffic and higher placed listings at lower CPC. Google also seems easier to manage because you only write 1 title and description for a group of keywords (called a “campaign”), choose a maximum CPC you are willing to spend for those keywords, and choose the maximum amount per day you want to spend. That way, it is easy to stay in your budget without a whole lot of work. Finally, you can have listings online instantly… no waiting! This is something that we feel many clients could manage themselves, especially if they purchased the Overture package and used some or all of the keywords we chose for Overture in their AdWords campaigns. Q. Who should purchase this package from @MOTION? A. Any AlaskaOne client, whether they have a domain name or not, can participate in this program if they purchase the Overture package. We recommend this package for clients who want to increase their traffic immediately as much as possible – particularly those clients who cannot afford to spend a lot of money to improve their standard listings in unpaid search engines. It also could be a good option for increasing your traffic while you wait for other search engine promotion work to “kick in”. Once you get better unpaid listings, you can always discontinue the AdWords program without losing any money. Again, many clients could probably set-up and manage this on their own, but if you do not wish to spend the time to do so yourself or feel more comfortable having someone with expertise in search engines do it for you, this package is for you. Q. How much does it cost? A. There is a $25 fee (in addition to the Overture fee) for us to set up your AdWords campaigns as outlined in the above questions. Q. How much do I have to spend per month? A. Whether you have us manage your bids or not, there is a maximum per-day charge that you choose (generally less than $5/day, depending on your advertising budget). Google will automatically charge your credit card for your clicks, but it will never charge you more in a day than your maximum per-day amount. So if you had a maximum cost of $5/day, the most Google would charge you would be $155/month. Q. How about ongoing management? A. It will cost $10 per month for ongoing management (on top of your Overture fee). The ongoing management fee includes a monthly report similar to the one provided for the Overture program… or you can manage it yourself instead. Q. Do I have to spend money on this all year? A. No. We recommend that you use Google AdWords Select only during your top booking season(s) – probably February to June for most of you -- and then allow your account to go off-line for the remainder of the year so that you aren’t paying for months that won’t give you much of a ROI. Q. Does this program guarantee results? A. Yes! Your traffic WILL increase if you buy this package. How much it will increase will vary. Monthly reports are available showing your average cost per visitor sent to your web site. The good news is, if it doesn’t work for you, you can discontinue it at any time and not incur any additional fees.
